Journey to the “Turquoise Goddess,” Cho Oyu, the world’s sixth‑highest mountain, rising along the Nepal–Tibet border. Cho Oyu's South Base Camp (~ 5,419 m) lies near the village of Gokyo in the western half of Sagarmatha National Park. Nearby Goyko Ri lookout offers stunning views of Everest, Lhotse and other major peaks in the surrounding area.
(Note: Cho Oyu's North Base Camp (~4,900 m) is located in Tibet, China and accessible by road).
This trek offers a quieter, and possibly even more spectacular alternative to the Everest Base Camp route, featuring turquoise high‑altitude lakes, dramatic glacier landscapes, and close‑up views of Cho Oyu's massive south face. Expect demanding trekking days rewarded by some of the most breathtaking panoramas in the Khumbu region.
